It’s important to look for a vape that is as amazing as it seems, and by that I mean that it performs well and has the ability to power your adventures for years to come. So in this first category, let’s take a look at the Mighty and the IQ 2 and how they compare!

Look and Feel/Build Quality 

The Mighty is a very unique vape in terms of its looks. Many have compared it to a power tool of some sort because of its heavy-looking outer plastic shell, and the overall design. It’s thanks to its shell that it’s practically life-resistant, and it can last years upon years.

But the Mighty’s look isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. It can be seen as bulky and a bit too intense, and we totally get it. The Mighty is actually a really good reflection of how Storz and Bickel designs its vapes, from the Volcano Hybrid to the Plenty vaporizer, and everything in between, have the same kind of futuristic vibe. 

Therefore, the Mighty is a hit or miss when it comes to its overall design, and it can either be perfect for you or simply not. Just remember that the Mighty’s performance could make up for its lack of daintiness.

The DaVinci IQ 2, on the other hand, is almost the complete opposite of the Mighty. It is much smaller, it is smooth and seamless, and it is very dainty. Many people loved the original DaVinci IQ for its look and feel, and the IQ 2 is very similar to the first edition.

Despite the IQ 2’s lack of an outer hard plastic shell, it is still quite resistant to falls and ordinary accidents, since it is made from stainless steel. However, the DaVinci IQ doesn’t have the futuristic vibe that the Mighty boasts, and so it could lose some points due to that in some people’s opinion.

We would describe the Mighty as heavy-duty, efficient, and life-resistant; and we’d describe the DaVinci IQ 2 as compact, elegant, and simple. So that might give you a good overall idea of their differences.

Ease of Use

When it comes to ease of use, both vaporizers are very different. They’re both quite easy to use, but they both require very different things when it comes to temperature settings, switching into new vape modes, and loading/unloading.

To get an idea of how to use the Mighty, here is a step-by-step of how to load and set the temperature on the Mighty:

• Once you grind the dry herb, use your filling aid to fill the chamber of the Mighty and replace the cooling unit.
• To set the temperature, all you need to do is press the orange button on the side for a few seconds, and set your temperature with the up or down buttons. Allow it to heat up, and start vaping.
  (To change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, press up and down until it changes on the screen).

Many would say that using the Mighty is quite easy, and it doesn’t take much to load it or set the temperatures. Also, note that the use of the grinder/filling aid is optional, and you can load it with a scoop directly from the grinder.

Otherwise, setting the temperatures are quite easy to use and understand, adding to the ease of using the Mighty. 

The DaVinci IQ 2, on the other hand, is very different in all these aspects. DaVinci released a mobile vape app compatible with Android phones, which allows users to fully control the vaporizer remotely, and which offers so many more features than the Mighty.

Here’s how to use the DaVinci IQ 2:

• Once you finely grind the dry herb, pop the lid from the chamber, and load your herb into the vape. 
• Then, select the temperature you want by either selecting a Vapour Path with the round button, or with the up/down buttons on the side. Allow it to heat up, and vape away.

We would consider using the DaVinci IQ 2 quite simple and intuitive, much like the Mighty vaporizer, so there isn’t too much difference between the two vapes in terms of ease-of-use, but they are different for sure.

Heating Method: Conduction vs Hybrid Heating

A major difference between the Mighty and the DaVinci IQ 2 vapes is their unique heating methods.

The Mighty vaporizer boasts a hybrid heating system, which combines conduction heating with hot air (convection heating) to make the most out of your product, and deliver as much potent vapour as possible. 

The DaVinci IQ 2, on the other hand, is only conduction heating, meaning it heats up the herb through direct contact.  Some argue that conduction heating isn’t the best for dry herb vaporizers, since the vapour can get quite harsh. However, the IQ 2 is complete with a beautiful cooling system in hopes of combating hot vapour.

Both heating methods do their job quite well, but for many people the Mighty vaporizer has it all in terms of heating, since it combines both heating methods into one vape, and delivers amazing vapour thanks to that.

Temperature Range and Controls 

The Mighty has a temperature range of 40°C - 230°C and the DaVinci IQ 2 has a temperature range of 121°C-221°C. The Mighty clearly has a much wider temperature range, and this can be really good for those who prefer vaping on low temperatures for the best flavour. 

However, a major difference between the two is that the DaVinci IQ 2 has a Vapour Path feature. These are essentially ‘paths’ or automatic temperature flows which slowly increases the temperature on your vape throughout a session. These make using the vape super easy and hands-free, and many love the efficiency of the Vapour Paths.

The controls on both vapes are very intuitive and are quite easy to navigate at any time. Both vapes have up and down buttons and a LED/OLED display to see what temperature you’re on. However, the IQ 2 can be controlled remotely, and the Mighty can’t.

The vapour quality from a vaporizer is, in many ways, the most important quality. We all have different vape preferences, but when it comes to tasty, cool vape clouds, we are all on the same side.

To clean the Mighty, all you need to do is: 

• Take the removable parts apart, and soak all but the cap in a bowl or jar with isopropyl alcohol. Let them sit for 20 minutes but no longer.
• While they soak, you can check the screen for any residue. If it needs cleaning, you can take it out with a toothpick, and soak it too. 
• Then,turn the vape upside down, and use a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the inside of the chamber. Don’t allow any isopropyl alcohol to go into the vaporizer’s heating element. 
• Once you’ve taken care of any stubborn bits of residue with the cotton swab, you need to rinse all the pieces you soaked previously in hot water. 
• To finish, reassemble the vape, and let it run through a whole session on the highest temperature, but keep the vape empty (no dry herb). That way you can burn off any stubborn alcohol before you start vaping from it. 

Maintaining the Mighty between deep cleaning sessions is quite easy too. Just brush out the bowl after every session, wiping it down with a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl alcohol if there are any resin spots after brushing it out.

Also, give the outside a nice wipe-down with an alcohol wipe every few sessions to lessen the smell and to keep it sanitary.

To clean the DaVinci IQ 2, all you need to do is:

• With a cotton swab damp with isopropyl alcohol, gently but thoroughly wipe down the inside of the chamber, and the Pearl connected to the lid. Make sure you take care of all the sticky residue spots!
• Then, to clean the mouthpiece, you can soak it in isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes, and then dislodge any residue with a cotton swab or a pipe cleaner. Then rinse it off with water.
• Finally, wipe down the outside of the vaporizer with an alcohol wipe or a paper towel wet with isopropyl alcohol to sanitize it and leave it squeaky clean!

Maintaining the DaVinci IQ 2 is simple too. All you should do is clean out the chamber after each session (especially after using it with concentrates) with a pipe cleaner or cotton swab with alcohol. Which Is Better For Whom?

The Mighty Vaporizer is best for people seeking a high quality vaporizer that will last them a lifetime. One of the best things about the Mighty is that it is made for everyday use, but it has a very long life, and can be a great investment. 

However, the Mighty can be considered to be a bit outdated in a few different ways, and the design isn’t necessarily beautiful to look at. It’s also its design which makes it less discreet than other portable dry herb vapes. 

The DaVinci IQ 2 is great for those looking for an elegant and technologically advanced vape that offers amazing vapour anywhere you take it. Its design is beautiful, and it is a very discreet vaporizer for those on-the-go moments. 

But the IQ 2 has quite a long charging time and a short battery, and this does affect its portability, since you might have to take extra charged batteries with you on your adventures.
